Part of my 81 provinces pledge includes a visit to historic Bataan. After an invitation to attend the opening of the first Boy Kanin branch in Orani, it is an opportune time to see this province's marvel. Boy Kanin Orani Branch opened just a stone's throw away from Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish Church and a few blocks from the munisipyo. The newest member of the successful franchise can easily be located by churchgoers, commuters, and students. It seems all roads lead to this happy place where families can share a meal after worship and friends and co-workers can hang out together after a long day.

After the Capili couple met Mr. and Mrs. Callao, the founders of Boy Kanin, sealed their decision to offer Boy Kanin in Orani. As business partners, they appreciate the support and open-mindedness of the Callao's to the vision that they shared. They especially liked the store design made by Architect Lumor Cenon Cesar which maximized the existing fixtures of the store. Architect Cesar's choice to use cost-effective renovations promoted the Filipino culture vibe that highlights every Boy Kanin branch. The Orani branch is one of the biggest dine-in branches to date of Boy Kanin and will offer several of our favorite Boy Kanin meals that may not be carried by kiosks and carts. It also has accommodating tables to let any family enjoy a board game while waiting for their food. Upon entering the restaurant, it is hard to miss the "piko" painted on the floor. It is also equally hard not to play a short game even if you are an adult already. For those who are not familiar with the game, it is an instant conversation starter.
This is why Boy Kanin is one of the few businesses I wish to be really successful nationally and globally. It is inevitable to talk about how wonderful and exciting the Filipino culture and food is inside the restaurant. It also supports several Filipino values we want to cultivate and instill to the next generation.

Most of the major ingredients used in all Boy Kanin restaurants are locally-produced. Each ingredient has a particular story that will make you appreciate the Callao's mission for supporting Filipino products. Take for example the turmeric they use which sources them from our local farmers in the Northern area. Mr. Callao, being a bike enthusiast, saw these farmers selling their produce along the road and decided to support them. Now, they have a steady relationship with Boy Kanin that will guarantee patronage of their products. The Capili also used local furniture makers and hired residents from Bataan to work in their restaurant, providing employment to locals in the area. The value of bayanihan is evident in the day-to-day operation of Boy Kanin because its owners believe in promoting these Filipino values.
