What Moves Boy Kanin to Success

Kanin or rice is a staple food all Filipinos enjoy. Hence, Boy Kanin, the brainchild of Mr. Ronald Allan Callao, President & CEO of MB Foods Corp., was born to address the need for familiar rice meals we are all accustomed to. On top of that, Boy Kanin invests heavily on their R&D to address even the current lifestyle of every Juan. Based on their research, most corporate employees multi-task while eating. Thus, workers from the BPO industry can enjoy their break time while eating the Pinoy burrito in a box anywhere, anytime. The box even has perforations in the middle which makes it easy open and convenient for sharing.

This sensitivity to the needs of Boy Kanin's customers and the passion to stay abreast of the trend opened doors for the company to start another venture which is closer to Mr. Callao's heart. On February 15, 2018, which is the eve of the Chinese New Year, Boy Kanin signed a MoA with Ronda Pilipinas, an annual professional road cycling competition. This cycling competition is usually held in the first quarter of the year. Thus, to pledge Boy Kanin's support to the cause, the champion of the said competition will receive his very own franchise of Boy Kanin in his chosen location. The franchise will amount to P300,000 which includes equipment and accessories, use of tradename and business system, opening marketing and R&D assistance, and other store paraphernalia.

Cycling has always been close to the heart of Mr. Callao as his father is a former professional cyclist. There is even a Boy Kanin Starken Cycling Club founded by the chairman. In line with Boy Kanin's fifth year anniversary, Boy Kanin will move not only to promote affordable boxed Filipino dishes but also to provide entrepreneurship and financial literacy to our professional cyclists.

This is the first time and first-year Boy Kanin will be awarding a franchise in a competition. Mr. Callao has expressed that the foundation and expansion of Boy Kanin as a staple brand all over key location are the next major steps of the company for the next five years. On the other hand, they are looking for partners who have the heart in business and would like to grow with them. Hence, they have several franchise options and have partnered with BPI Kanegosyo for financial assistance.
